With one more Stock car season in the rearview. Racing Season isn't over just yet.... a few big names stuck around in Phoenix for an edgier kind of lap.

NASCAR championship contender, Chase Elliott will be racing again at the Nitro RallyCross after last year's debut for which he says the experience is "just for fun". He's not alone as NASCAR's Cup series rookie of the year, Austin Cindric will also find his place at the track in Phoenix. The double header weekend at Wild Horse Pass features drivers from all around the world.

One of Motorsports newest circuits on the scene, Travis Pastrama co-founded the hybrid of motocross and dirt racing back in 2018 for a one-of-a-kind experience that is attracting drivers around the globe. The dirt tracks feature large gap jumps and banked dirt turns. The cars this season are electric all-wheel drive FC1-X's and will be a steeper learning curve for the NASCAR drivers to navigate than the previous year.

Although neither Chase Elliott nor Austin Cindric advanced past the LCQ (last chance qualifier) round, it seemed like they improved consistently throughout the double header weekend and delighted the fans who especially turned out for them.

I find crossover racing in general to be really entertaining. I mean who wouldn't love to see their favorite golfer try his hand at polo? Throw 'em in there and see how they swim.

The future of Rallycross is looking bright. The 10-round schedule is placed across 3 continents and has been only growing in fan following as the literally video-game like moves of these cars hit the craziest designed tracks on the globe, such as the upcoming Quebec race "on ice". I for one am seriously looking forward to their 2023 tour.
